Masala Aloo Gobhi Recipe

It is often asked by a girl before her marriage.. do you know how to make aloo gobhi??
One of the all the time favorite dish of all the guys... It is said that a way to a man's heart is through his stomach & I agree !
I usually try to make some dishes during weekend for the guy and last weekend made Aloo gobhi :)

Now there are different ways to make this dish , I being a true Punjabi like spicy food so added a Punjabi twist to the dish ....

Ingredients -
Cauliflower- 1 medium size
Potatoes-5-6 pcs , pealed & diced
Coriender fresh - Little bit
Ginger & Garlic cloves- some
Salt, pepper , garam masala- As per taste
Turmeric- 1 tsp
Corianderpowder- 1 tsp
Onion- 2 pcs
Tomato- 2pcs
Green Chillies- 4 pcs
Mustard oil-2 tbs 

Chop the onion & tomatoes





Crush the ginger, fresh coriander, garlic & green together .


Cut the potatoes & cauliflower



I made the sabzi in iron wok , considering its health benifits.

Add mustard oil in the iron wok and after-3-4 mins add the crushed paste.





Now when it turns little golden brown add chopped onions




Let it cook for about 2 mins & when it turns golden brown then add tomatoes










Now when the masala is ready and it starts leaving oil then add the potatoes first & then the cauliflower



Add about 1/2 cuo of water and cover the wok with a lid and on sim flame let it cook for 15-20 mins.

Now this is how the final dish looks like I transferred it in aluminum wok ,it is suggested that any food cooked in iron vessels be transferred immediately to a glass or enamel dish.


You may be thinking the final dish looks a little black , that is due to the fact that I cooked it in a iron wok.

You can make the same dish in a different wok too!

    and that too spicy,,try making it with some curd too, also sometimes you can deep fry the veggies and then mix them with the masala..

  7. Mmmm nice recipie ..will try surely. ...but will it taste the same if i use saffola oil oil ... Coz i don't use mustard oil.......

I am going to try this on the weekend and then will give u my reviews :D However, one thing I must compliment you on that I LOVE the idea of how you explained step-by-step method of cooking and how it should look like. This is amazing for amateurs like ME :( I would love to see the same pattern with pictures and step-by-step cooking method MORE N MORE N MORE.
